Impact of Employee Language Barriers on Queens’ area businesses.
 
The Queens Chamber of Commerce and the Center for an Urban Future are conducting a survey of Queens’ area businesses regarding the English language skills of the area’s workforce. The information gathered will be used to look at the impact of non-English speaking (no working knowledge of the English language both verbal and written) and limited-English speaking (not enough working knowledge of the English language both verbal and written to function effectively) workers on the business community's productivity and profit margin.
