Hour Children is proud to announce the Second year of our newly added program – Mentoring Children of Prisoners – “Hour Friends in Deed”.
Thousands of children are negatively impacted by a parent’s incarceration. Without a positive adult role model, research shows that 70% of those children will likely find themselves involved in the criminal justice system.
No special skills are needed to become a mentor, just a longing to make a positive impact in a child’s life. Mentors agree to spend 4 hours of a month for at least one year. Training and on-going support will be provided.
Here’s your opportunity to be a part of the solution by becoming a mentor.

Hour Children: The name was chosen because the lives of these young children are often dictated by the Hours they must wait for their parents- hours waiting to visit their parent in prison, the hours they wait for their parents’ release and the hour when they can become a family again. This is the hour where you can make a difference in one of these children’s lives.
